Emerald Luxury Coaches converts Prevost H3-45 and X3-45 bus shells into motorhomes in Stephenville, Texas. Its own history page says the company was officially set up in 2012, though another line on the same page says 2014, and that it showed its first finished coach in 2013. John Walker leads the company. Emerald says its goal is a coach that is easy to operate, and National Bus Trader reported in 2019 that the price of its new H3-45 stayed below the average Prevost conversion.

The full story

Emerald history

Emerald Luxury Coaches builds its coaches in Stephenville, Texas. The company's history page says its people had been building travel accommodations there for nearly two decades before the coach company began. The same page says Emerald was officially established in 2012, the year it finished a new 50,000-square-foot plant in Stephenville, and that it first set out to build coaches on the Prevost XLII to compete in the Class A market. Another line near the top of the page says the company was established in 2014, so the founding year is not settled.

Emerald showed its first finished coach, a Prevost X3-45 numbered #5299, at the Barrett-Jackson show in Las Vegas in 2013. The trade magazine National Bus Trader wrote in 2019 that Emerald had built a niche around its X3-45 coaches since 2015.

Emerald's history page says its first H3-45 conversion arrived in 2017, although the same page's entry for 2016 mentions H3 coaches on display. National Bus Trader reported in June 2019 that Emerald was adding H3-45 conversions for the 2020 model year, with a 58-volt house electrical system using Volta lithium-ion batteries and a Crestron-based control system. The magazine said the price of a new Emerald H3-45 stayed below the average Prevost conversion. At that time the new H3-45 coaches were sold only through Liberty Coach of Florida in Stuart, Florida, and TransWest RV in Frederick, Colorado.

The look of the coaches changed along the way. Emerald says it moved from hardwood to laminate cabinets in 2018 and rebranded in 2019 around a more modern style. In 2024 it showed its first conversion on Prevost's newly released H3-45 at the Florida RV Supershow, said it made significant advancements to the design, technology and safety of its coaches, and showed a four-slide H3-45 at Prevost's 100th anniversary event in Quebec.

Emerald is one of the converters listed on Prevost's motorhome site. That page names John Walker as chief executive and lists Emerald locations in Stephenville, Texas, and Frederick, Colorado (at TransWest), plus one at a Liberty dealer. National Bus Trader called Walker the owner and president in 2019.

Emerald lists its coaches by number instead of by model name, and its fleet page can be filtered by shell and by the number of slide-outs. According to Emerald's site, an X3-45 can have up to two slide-outs and an H3-45 up to four. In October 2026 the site listed 2027 coaches on both shells. A January 2025 company blog post also describes a four-slide ("Quad Slide") coach that Emerald unveiled at the 2025 Prevost Motorhome Expo in West Palm Beach, Florida.
