Blue Bird Wanderlodge SP
The SP was a 36-foot rear-engine Wanderlodge with a single rear axle. The Vintage Birds owners’ club lists it from 1989, the year the forward-control coach ended, with a 300-horsepower Caterpillar 3208 diesel, a center entry door and a 96-inch-wide body, and marks 1992 as its last year. Wikipedia gives the same years and says it kept the forward-control coach’s Caterpillar 3208.

The story of the model
SP history
Vintage Birds lists the 36-foot Single Axle Pusher, or SP, for 1989 with a 300-horsepower Caterpillar 3208, a center door and a 96-inch width, in the same year it marks the end of the forward-control coach. Wikipedia says the SP replaced the forward-control model and kept its Caterpillar 3208.
For 1991 the SP and the Wide Body got a new exterior and major equipment changes. Vintage Birds marks 1992 as the end of the SP, and Wikipedia says production then shifted entirely to 102-inch-wide coaches.
