Featherlite Vantaré
Vantaré is the name Featherlite uses for its custom Prevost conversions. It comes from Vantaré International, the Sanford builder Featherlite bought in 1996. Current coaches are built on the Prevost H3-45 and X3-45 shells with up to four slide-outs. Featherlite calls its coaches one-of-a-kind designs, and each carries its own number and name.

The story of the model
Vantaré history
The company's history page says the first Vantaré motorhome was shown in 1991 and that the word comes from Italian, meaning to praise or to boast. After the 1996 purchase the coaches were sold as Vantare by Featherlite, and later as Featherlite Vantaré.
Featherlite's current models page describes two versions. The Featherlite Vantaré H3-45 uses the taller Prevost shell with a fiber-composite body and 505 cubic feet of storage under the floor. The Featherlite Vantaré XLII, which the same page lists as the X3-45, uses the Prevost shell with a stainless-steel upper structure and the longer wheelbase. Featherlite says it is the only Prevost converter in the United States that can add its own slide-out rooms and keep the Prevost warranty.
The year records below mix two kinds of sources. The 1997, 2004 and 2005 records come from Featherlite's annual reports for those fiscal years. They describe the whole line and are not model years. The later records are single coaches taken from the company's own listings.
