What changed this year

Turbocharged 225-hp Caterpillar 3208 fitted; Vintage Birds says the last 12 coaches of the model year got the 250-hp turbo. Rear Bath (RB) models introduced.

Notes

Fuel capacity differs and is left empty: 265 gallons on the 35-foot, 235 gallons on the 31- and 33-foot, and 150 gallons on Rear Bath models. Generator: 12.5 kW Kohler diesel on the 35-foot, 7.5 kW Kohler gasoline on the 31- and 33-foot, so the kW field is left empty here. Also listed: Ridewell air suspension, full air brakes, a 45-gallon LP tank and a standard drive line retarder. Wikipedia explains RB as a rear-mounted bathroom and SB as the earlier mid-ship bathroom layout, with RB offered on the 33- and 35-foot lengths. An owner-preserved 1983 Wanderlodge owner’s manual (110 pages) is on ManualsLib, but its pages could not be read, so it is not known which models it covers. The specifications are an owner-club summary from the Vintage Birds page for this year, not a factory scan. Lengths are the nominal model lengths used by Vintage Birds, not measured figures.
